There is no typical day at BBN!
We:

• Work on a variety of projects specializing in operational accounting across a broad range of service lines.
• Assist small and medium-sized clients spanning across multiple industries.
• Troubleshoot and deal with daily accounting timelines in support of our clients.
• Collaborate and embrace the team approach with staff and clients.

Because of the diverse nature of our operational accounting work, work location will depend on the clients we work with. We are adaptable! You will gain as much experience as possible working on diverse projects, learning to interact with clients (in person, remotely or both!), working in a team atmosphere and enjoying the fact that each new day brings new experiences!

Yes. BBN employees use their own vehicle to travel between the BBN office to a client’s office (on the job in course of their daily job), and therefore are required to provide BBN proof of a valid driver’s license and a copy of their valid vehicle insurance. Employees need to make sure their insurance is adequate to cover their vehicle for the commute to and from work, not just for a pleasure vehicle.

Because of the diversity of the work we do, having a vehicle readily at your disposal is required. Sometimes you won’t know you’re going out to a client’s office until the day of!

Business casual, defined by clothing that is appropriate for meetings with clients, is the dress code we follow during normal business hours. We are a professional office and must remember that our image impacts our credibility with our clients and potential clients. Even if you’re working remotely, dressing with intention matters. On occasion, regular business attire may be more appropriate then business casual.

At BBN, one of our core values is continuous learning and improvement. We encourage everyone to be curious, and embrace learning every day.

Employees may be able to attend conferences, courses, seminars and meetings, identified through annual work plans and Employee Professional Development Plans, which may be beneficial to the employee’s professional development. Employees must complete a Continuous Learning Application form to be considered.

Depending on your learning objectives and their alignment with BBN’s strategic development goals, there may be opportunities for additional certifications.

Yes!

Your performance will be continuously reviewed and evaluated by those responsible for supervising and managing your work assignments. Much of this feedback is ongoing and will be given informally on the job. Job specific performance feedback forms are also prepared at the end of your probationary period and will be discussed with you during feedback interviews.

You will receive feedback on your performance throughout the year. We also encourage you to seek out feedback on an ongoing basis.

In addition, you will receive an annual performance review that provides you with an opportunity to discuss your career progress over the past year and set out goals for career development. Your annual performance review form is discussed with you during an appraisal interview. Your performance will be evaluated based on a set of competency performance expectations and KPIs for your position.

Performance evaluations and promotions are driven by your achievement of defined competencies.
