Kim Deep, CEO, CFO

Kim Deep, CBA, BA is a successful entrepreneur, author, and financial empowerment advocate. She has over 30 years experience in the accounting industry, with 20 of those years as a CMA/CPA (Certified Management Accountant/Chartered Public Accountant). As an avid learner and educator, Kim has also been involved in professional and personal workshop development and delivery since 2005.

She founded Business By Numbers Ltd in December 2007 from her passion to help business owners and individuals learn about money, and how to make it work for them so they can live a lifestyle of choice. Through developing The Pain-Free Accounting Process, which can be applied to all types of companies and industries, Kim has grown her accounting services business into a global operation with Number Ninjas and team members serving clients through offices in Edmonton, Alberta, and Mexico.

Did you know?

Kim had a featured spot on the call-in radio segment “Deep Pockets with Kim Deep” for 7 months, in addition to participating in over 40 guest interviews on radio shows and TV spots, educating viewers in the psychology and behaviors around their relationship with money.

Author

Kim is a published author and the first of her children’s financial book series, “Conductor Kash and the Prosperity Express“, teaches money management: a skill that is useful for all ages. She has also published multiple articles and has been featured in publications with respect to women and money.

Kim has also developed and written financial literacy curriculum in partnership with Prosper Canada, Creative Wealth International, the Edmonton Financial Empowerment Collaborative, Empower U, and The Family Wealth Academy.

Educator

Having been certified in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) training, Kim facilitates financial workshops with The Family Wealth Academy and Kidz Make Cents to empower people to manage their money and demonstrate that anyone can learn to live within their means with the right tools. This concept aligns with the philosophy Kim applies to Business by Numbers’ clients.

Kim is also a co-facilitator with the Mastery of Self Expression Workshop which focuses on expanding people’s communication and relationship skills. Kim has also delivered financial literacy workshops (Writers Inc.) to help writers learn the language of money.

Leader

Kim has been featured on the cover of the CPA Canada Magazine and has been a keynote speaker for CPA Alberta’s annual professional conference (formerly CMA Alberta). Also from 2013 to 2017, Kim was appointed a Financial Literacy Edmonton Area leader for Alberta with the CPA Canada Community Connects program, “Financial Decisions Matter”, to help with the delivery of Financial Literacy education to the community.

She speaks frequently with initiatives like Women and Money, the Empower U Project, and the Edmonton Financial Empowerment Collaborative.
