Kim Deep
CEO
Kim Deep is a successful entrepreneur, author, facilitator and Financial Empowerment Advocate. She has over 30 years’ experience in the accounting industry, and has been involved in professional and personal workshop development and delivery since 2005. She’s passionate about financial literacy and is involved in many related projects, including with the Edmonton Financial Empowerment Collaborative and the United Way/ATB’s Empower U initiative. Kim loves to travel, play sports, write and spend quality time with her family as part of her “down” time.
Carmen Gilligan
Staff Accountant
Carmen is married with two amazing children and three gorgeous grandchildren. Carmen loves providing solutions thru bookkeeping services along with data entry, bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll, monitoring cashflow and more for several of BBN’s clients. Carmen has been proudly working for Business By Numbers since 2010.
Shelby Deep
Staff Accountant &
Marketing Assistant
Shelby went to Grant MacEwan University for Design and Photography. She joined the Business By Numbers team in November 2008 and enjoys working with clients and learning new ways to help people improve their business. Shelby has two businesses of her own and understands the needs and wants of business owners, to help provide accurate and usable information.
Brent Melynk
Staff Accountant
Born in Edmonton, Brent Melnyk attended Grant MacEwan University. In 2011, after completing his first year in the Arts Program, Brent came on-board working with the BBN team. He was quickly converted into a striving accountant! Brent switched into the Bachelor of Commerce program, majoring in Accounting, and never looked back! In 2015, Brent graduated from Grant MacEwan University and is now pursuing his CPA designation.
Pat Shanks
I.T. Guru
Pat is the guy you will hopefully never see if all the technology stuff is working OK. Coming to Alberta from Toronto, Ontario, Pat is a wonderful husband and devoted father of three amazing children. He has over 40+ years experience in Information Technology and has been an integral part of the Business By Numbers team since 2012. When Pat isn’t working to keep all the tech stuff running smoothly at BBN, he can be seen hitting the gym, going for a walk or investigating all the new technical tools and strategies available.
